Smith competed in the 2019 Pontevedra ITU Aquathlon World Championships, winning the competition over other female athletes in the 16-19 age group in Pontevedra, Spain, on May 2.

WAMS secured a division two, third-place win for “Leonardo’s Workshop” and Cochran Primary earned a division one, 12th-place spot for “Opposites Distract.”The Williamsport Area School Board continued its annual Outstanding Student presentations tonight.

Genovese comes to the district from the Benton Area School District, where she most recently served as its K-12 director of curriculum and instruction and director of grant writing and federal programs. Brandon Coleman was recently named Supervisor of Pupil Transportation and School Safety at WASD. The contest features schools from Lycoming and Sullivan counties.
Coleman, who begins April 1, comes to WASD from Keystone Central School District, where he’s held the position of the district’s supervisor of police and transportation since 2009. Of the 21 contending teams, the WAHS group took second place for Lycoming County and third place overall.
