2019 South African Law Reform Commission Legal Essay Competition The South African Law Reform Commission (SALRC) is engaging young legal minds in generating innovative ideas on issues of law reform.As from 2019, the Competition is dedicated to the memory of the late Chief Justice Pius Nkonzo Langa who served South Africa with dignity and distinction.This website was recently revamped and boasts many benefits including a reduction in web content redundancy, faster loading times and a more responsive website that is viewable across devices and screen sizes.
Her essay, titled "Ambiguity surrounding the powers of the public protector - a threat to the rule of law" was assessed as the winning essay by an independent panel composed of professors from the University of Fort Hare, Rhodes University and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
In the essay I analyse the shortfalls within the Public Protector Act and offer my opinions on how this legislation needs to be reformed in order to give effect to and protect the office of the Public Protector.'
