ive mostly kept with the medium of paint, should I use other mediums? Then some ideas of a final piece, working in with some artist research.
ive mostly kept with the medium of paint, should I use other mediums? Then some ideas of a final piece, working in with some artist research.I'm working at a grade B at the minute if that helps. I got an A* in Art GCSE and am now studying art at university. They want to see original thought, research, experimentation and analysis. Experiment in the style of these artists, add your own edge, analysing as you go.This blog post is the first of a few I intend on posting through the summer.
I started with a brightly coloured palette and began painting After painting some landscapes I also had a look at the Pompidou building.
I played with wild brush strokes and very bold colour.
For the pieces within this post I have been using Rosemary and Co Paintbrushes and I have been very much pleasantly surprised by the soft hairs.
I especially enjoyed using the long fibre brushes which allowed me to create very accurate detail.
My first project was gardens and I focused on textiles, resulting in creating a detailed dress with bouquets on for the design.

My second project was contrast between Native American and Aboriginal art and I used clay media throughout, creating about five sculptures of various heads. They create art in very contrasting manors : David hockney uses very bright colours and his work is somewhat abstract whereas Freud work is very raw.Freud’s work displays the subjects for what they are, with very realistic skin tones.I think the thing I really love about Freud’s work is the way that every brush stroke builds the aesthetic individually, where (I feel) Hockney uses shape and colour to create his art. After trying out portraiture painting I started to look at Landscapes, and specifically the way that Hockney paints them.I'm currently studying GCSE art, and I've chosen the theme of ' growth and decay.' I'm hoping for a A* by the end of the year.I work hard and put in the effort but I'm struggling for ideas. The project I'm doing at the moment, and also my final one, is the journeys into fairytale worlds and I am focusing on my painting and drawing skills. It is important to experiment with different types of media throughout your upcoming project to show variation, which if you're doing the AQA qualification, will help you gain marks in the third assessment objective. In this post I want to explore my favourite technique -by far- Painting.I have really enjoyed playing with colour and texture.
